Came A Drop Gently for English Horn, Mezzo, Tenor, & Piano (original)
CAME A DROP GENTLY (c. 10′) for mezzo-soprano, tenor, English horn, and piano is a tender one-movement work about eternal love based on a poem by Walt Whitman. Undulating waves of fear and sadness are juxtaposed with dreams of eternal reunion meant to help us move through the struggle to let go and find hope.
Suitable for young or professional singers and high school, college, or professional English horn and piano players.
“Sensitive text setting, awareness of the voice’s most natural moves up and down, intervals spelled intelligently, great harmonic support. Suitable for a professional or younger singers…I say, brava! This is wonderful!” Lisa Neher, soprano/vocal coach/composer
“Wow, this is gorgeous! The English horn sounds very vocal and I really love it.” Beth Wheeler, principal English horn, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra
